Six bystanders injured in New York crash

A New York man was recently arrested on drunk driving charges after reportedly racing another driver down Second Avenue in the East Village of Manhattan just prior to careening into a storefront, resulting in injuries to a half dozen people. This isn't the man's first brush with the law. Reports indicate he has previously been arrested for DWI as well as possession of cocaine.

New York woman awarded 4.1 million after slip-and-fall.

A New York woman is to receive upwards of $4 million after the jury awarded her slip and fall lawsuit. The 59-years-old woman brought the suit against her condominium's management agent and contractor for failure to remove the snow that accumulated on her patio. The woman slipped and fell on the snow and ice on her patio while trying to visit a neighbor.

New York driver charged in crash that killed 2

A New York driver was recently charged in connection with a collision involving a car and a motorcycle. Two motorcycle riders died from their injuries at the scene. Police say that the accident occurred early in the morning on June 2 when the driver hit the motorcycle with two Long Island residents aboard.

Woman Hurt by Falling Tree Limb in Central Park

A woman was taken to the hospital after she was struck by a heavy branch of a tree in Central Park this afternoon.  The woman was walking along a path in the park near 86th Street and Central Park West when the falling limb hit her in the head, according to the FDNY. She was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in serious condition.

Car Crashes into Pedestrians in Midtown, Baby Critically Hurt

A baby inside a stroller was among 6 hurt after being struck by an SUV in Midtown.  

Police say the driver of a Chevy SUV lost control of their vehicle at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 46th Street and hit pedestrians in the crosswalk, including an 11-month-old boy inside a stroller.

Product Malfunction or Operator Negligence?

Accident investigators say the cause of the May 29, 2013 crash in New York's Courtland County that resulted in the death of seven people was mechanical failure. The crash occurred when a trailer containing crushed cars separated from the truck that was hauling it and careened across two lanes of a rural road, slamming into a minivan traveling in the opposite direction and killing three adults and four children.
