Multi-vehicle accident in New York causes 6 injuries, 1 fatality

Oftentimes, a car crash involves more than just two vehicles. After an accident, two vehicles may obstruct the lane of traffic on which they crashed, and cars driving at high speeds may not be able to avoid being pulled into the scene of the wreck. What starts as a two-car crash may turn into a multi-vehicle pileup and many victims may become involved in an accident over which they have no control.

A multi-vehicle crash occurred recently in New York state and had some devastating results. Six people were injured and one person died in a multi-vehicle wreck that resulted in the closure of the northbound lanes of a New York state highway. Among the vehicles involved were a tractor-trailer, a plow truck and four cars. One of the victims was identified as a 53-year-old man. None of the injuries reported were considered life-threatening.

Injuries may not always be life-threatening, but in many cases they can still be life-altering. Even a seemingly minor injury like whiplash can cause victims to have long-term pain. Long-term pain often requires long-term treatment -- which might result in hefty medical expenses. Medical expenses can be burdensome for victims, often requiring them to pay out-of-pocket for expensive treatments.

In some cases, victims choose to seek compensation to help cope with some of the financial burden associated with accident injuries. Other times, too, families who have lost loved ones in car accidents may also decide to pursue monetary awards, as lost wages and medical expenses may become a burden for them as well. Both cases can be aided by a strong and aggressive legal strategy that makes use of extensive knowledge and legal acumen to fight for a favorable outcome.
