Another Building Collapse In Midtown Manhattan Near Grand Central

Four construction workers were hurt during an interior demolition project at a midtown commercial building not far from Grand Central Terminal Tuesday, officials say.  This comes on the heels of the East Village building explosion which occurred a week and a half ago, killing two and injuring dozens.  Morgan Levine Dolan has filed a lawsuit against multiple parties in that East Village explosion on behalf of a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk.

The victims of this recent building collapse were taken to Bellevue Hospital after the 10 a.m. accident at East 43rd Street and Madison Avenue, about a block west of the transit hub.  SL Green Realty Corp., which manages the property, said in a statement a licensed site safety manager was present at the time of the accident.

The law firm of Morgan Levine Dolan handles many types of cases involving building collapses and explosions. We have recovered millions of dollars for our clients injured as a result of the negligence of building owners and contractors.

A thorough, detailed investigation into the cause of these buildings collapsing must begin immediately so that crucial evidence is not destroyed. The City of New York and its agencies cannot be relied upon to perform these types of investigations. Many times it is determined that improper building permits were issued by the City and therefore liability is found against the Department of Buildings of the City of New York. Hiring the right lawyer to uncover negligent acts is the first important step.
