SUV Plows Into Bronx Restaurant, Leaving One Dead And Two Injured

A car smashed into a fast food restaurant in the Bronx in a hit-and-run accident on Thursday evening, killing a 7-year-old boy, and injuring a 5-year-old girl and a 34-year-old man, according to reports.

Three customers, a father and his two children, were sitting at a booth next to the window when a car smashed through the restaurant and into them, according to witnesses. The victims were taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where the boy, who was identified as Ethan Villavicencio, was pronounced dead, authorities said. The boy's sister, Maya Villavicencio, and their father are in stable condition.

Police have arrested Kwasi Oduro, 73, who was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident. The police claim Oduro's Mercedes Benz SUV reversed and slammed into the Kennedy Fried Chicken restaurant on Westchester Avenue in Pelham Bay.

According to eyewitness reports, the driver sat inside the SUV for about 30 seconds while people banged on his car and told him that children were underneath. He did not step out of his vehicle, and drove away on Westchester Avenue. Witnesses were able to record his license plate number, and informed police, who chased the car down to Continental Avenue, where they apprehended Oduro, according to reports.

For grieving families, it's important that a full investigation be conducted. For that, a wise first step is to discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in car accidents.
