Victims In Fatal Bus Crash In Poconos Named

Marco Fornasetti, 29, a newlywed and pharmacist from Vicenza, Italy, was among those killed in a fatal crash involving an Italian tour bus and a tractor trailer in the Poconos in eastern Pennsylvania on Wednesday, Pennsylvania State Police said Thursday.

Fornasetti's wife, also a pharmacist, was among the dozens of people injured in the crash.

Two other victims have been named. Rino Guerra, 69, an Italian citizen, and the bus driver Alfredo Telemaco, 54, of New York City, were also killed in the crash, according to reports.

State police are still investigating the reason why the tractor trailer, operated by Greatwide Dedicated Transport, part of Concord, N.C.-based Cardinal Logistics Management Corp., crossed a grassy highway median into oncoming traffic and into the path of the charter bus. The tour bus, owned by Academy Bus, left from New York City and was heading to Niagara Falls when the truck slammed into it.

Cardinal representatives have not revealed details on the driver, his route, or how long he had been driving that day. The company said that it was cooperating with investigators. Pennsylvania State Police have identified the driver of the tractor trailer as Franklin Dale Wyatt, 55, of Macomb, Okla.

For grieving families, it's important that a full investigation be conducted. For that, a wise first step is to discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in bus accidents.
