1 Killed, 2 Seriously Injured After Car Crashes Into L.I. Home

A teenager has died and two other people were seriously injured after their car crashed into a home on Long Island on Sunday evening, according to reports.

Kenya Jimenez, 17, lost her life in the single-car accident. She was in the car with the driver, Aramis Broadus, 19, Chyna Adams, 18, and Robert Jones, 20, two of whom suffered serious injuries.

The four were driving in a Nissan Maxima when Broadus headed north on Little East Neck Road near Gordon Avenue in West Babylon. He suddenly lost control of the car and hit a telephone pole before he crashed into a home, police said.

"Upon arrival, we did find three persons in the vehicle that were trapped," West Babylon Fire Chief Peter McArdle told reporters. "The driver did self-extricate and was lying by the side of the road when we got here."

Adams, Jones and Jimenez were all taken to the hospital. Jimenez was later pronounced dead at the hospital, police said. Jones was treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Adams was seriously hurt with several broken bones, according to reports. Broadus was treated for minor injuries and was released.

No one inside the home was hurt. The house received extensive damage from the crash and was by the fire marshal and the town building inspector.

The police are still investigating.
