Woman Killed In Motorcycle Hit-And-Run Accident In Queens

A woman was killed after the motorcycle she was riding on lost control, crashed and threw her and the driver into oncoming traffic on the Belt Parkway, according to police.

The 28-year-old driver, who has not been named, lost control of his 2007 Yamaha motorcycle and ran into the center median near Cross Bay Boulevard in Queens at around 10:30 p.m. The driver and the woman were thrown into the left lane of the road.

Sade Eversley, 22, of Brooklyn, was struck by two vehicles as she lay on the ground. The driver of an old white minivan, which was behind the motorcycle as the accident unfolded, tried to swerve to the right, but ended up hitting Eversley as she lay on the ground. The driver did not pull over and fled the scene, police said. Another driver in a 2014 Honda minivan ran over Eversley as well. The second driver tried to stop the van before it ran over her. The driver stayed at the scene of the accident.

When emergency responders arrived, Eversley was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center with minor injuries. No one else was hurt from the accident.

Police have not made any arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
