One Person Killed, Two Critically Injured In Queens Crash

One woman died and another woman and a two-year-old girl were critically injured in a fatal car crash involving at least two cars in Queens, according to reports. The accident occurred around 6 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue and 108th Street in Richmond Hill, Queens.

A 43-year-old woman driving in a white SUV was traveling westbound on Atlantic Avenue when she allegedly ran through a red light at 108th Street, police said. She was struck by a black Kia driven by a 23-year-old woman in between the intersection. The collision caused the white SUV to mount the curb and struck a family of three, including a 52-year-old woman, a 58-year-old woman, and a two-year-old-girl.

The emergency responders rushed the three to Jamaica Hospital. Meena Mahabir, 52, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The 48-year-old woman and the two drivers were listed in stable condition. The two-year-old girl was listed in critical, but stable condition.

The drivers of the two cars stayed at the scene. No arrests have been made. The police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
