Pedestrian Struck By NYU Bus In West Village

A woman was struck by a New York University bus at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and 10th Street in Manhattan on Tuesday afternoon, according to reports. The woman, who was identified as being in her mid-30s, was taken away on a stretcher in an ambulance. The extent of her injuries was not known.

According to eyewitnesses, the woman had the right of way to cross the street when the bus made a turn and collided into her.

"Our foremost concern is the health of the pedestrian involved in the incident," NYU spokesman Matt Nagel said. "NYU officials are aware of the situation and cooperating fully with the NYPD."

The bus had taken a slight detour due to street construction. The driver and the bus are both contract partners of the university, according to Washington Square News.
