Bronx, UWS Crashes Leave Two People Injured

Two separate crashes left a woman critically injured and a man in a wheelchair injured, according to reports. The accidents happened 12 hours apart in the Bronx and the Upper West Side.

At 3 a.m., a car crash occurred involving a Lexus that collided with a red Buick as it was taking a curve on the Mosholu Parkway by Webster Avenue, officials said. The driver of the Lexus was pulled from her car after police pried open her door. She was transported to Bellevue Hospital where she was listed in critical condition.

The driver of the Buick, whose identity has not been revealed, was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition.

Hours later, a man in a motorized wheelchair was struck in a collision involving a sedan and taxi cab on Broadway and West 103rd Street in Manhattan, according to reports. The man in the wheelchair was crossing Broadway at the intersection when the cab went through the red light and struck the sedan, witnesses said.

The man in the wheelchair was conscious and asked for his sister, who lived nearby, witnesses said. She arrived at the scene and asked what happened.

Police did not provide any additional information about the crash.
