Cyclist Fatally Struck In Brooklyn Chain-Reaction Crash

A bicyclist was fatally struck after a chain reaction crash in Midwood, Brooklyn on Monday at around 10 p.m., police said.

 

According to police, the driver of a 2012 Honda Accord was driving westbound on Avenue P when he went through a red light and struck a 2015 Infiniti Q50, at the intersection of East 12th Street. The impact of the collision caused both cars to veer into the cyclist and two parked cars. The body of the cyclist was found was pinned between two parked cars, police said.

 

The cyclist, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

 

The driver of the Honda Accord, a 26-year-old male, was taken to Lutheran Hospital for chest pain. The Infiniti's driver, a 20-year-old male, was taken to Kings County Hospital and treated for minor neck and back pain, police said.

 

No immediate arrests or charges have been made.
